Registration for junior league starts 16 February 2008. What age can you start playing? Girls and Boys start by playing ‘Minifootball’ or ‘Pee Wees’ at age of 3-4, which is conducted up until age 5-6. The players graduate to ‘Rooball’ (a modified form of Football) designed to cater for players age 6 -11. The aim of Rooball is to encourage young players to learn the game, learn basic skills and have fun in a non-competitive environment. Capital Football promotes the values of good sporting behaviour that are vital to the enjoyment of Football for players, coaches, officials and spectators. We are proud to part of the Good Sports Territory initiative. Teams are mixed until girls can take up the increased opportunity to play in a girls only competition (depending on the club, usually at Under 8’s). Girls and Boys aged 10-18 play in a junior competition throughout the ACT region. Where? Clubs are located throughout Canberra, Queanbeyan, Cooma, Yass and surrounding region. When? The season is conducted over Saturday mornings during Terms II & III of the school year. Registrations are held on the 2nd & 3rd Saturday in February. How much? Depending on the club, registration fees range from $50 for Mini Football to $90 for Rooball and increases to around $130 for competitive players. Clubs however can’t operate without a solid base of volunteers. When registering your children to play football please consider offering your services to assist in the running of the club. There is also an opportunity for mums and dads of all ages and abilities to play as well. |
